The Priory in Roehampton, south-west London, is renowned as the oldest private psychiatric hospital in the capital and for treating some of Britain's most famous names for addictions to gambling, sex, drugs, alcohol and computer science. After Sarah Harding sought treatment for depression and alcohol addiction, she isn't the first UK pop star to sign up for rehab. The East Coast has just received a new high-end private pay center called The Dunes located in East Hampton. One80Center CEO Alex Shohet said that you can't force them to recover and that you have to "conspire" to help them understand that they're there to prioritize their health. Passages Malibu is one of the most luxurious rehabilitation centers with lush gardens, a fully equipped gym and clifftop views overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
It follows a holistic philosophy of addiction treatment which focuses on healing the underlying conditions that are causing addiction. Other celebrities have gone to The Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, California. Keith Urban, Jerry Lee Lewis, Drew Barrymore, Johnny Cash, David Hasselhoff, Ozzy Osbourne, Chevy Chase, Bobby Brown, Liza Minnelli, Stevie Nicks and Elizabeth Taylor are just some of the names that have received treatment here. When Wonderland was still open it saw people like Lindsay Lohan, Mike Tyson, Christian Slater, Pat O'Brien and Michael Jackson pass through its doors.
